Summary

“Walking the Dog” by Bernard MacLaverty tells the story of John, who is walking his dog on a winter’s day close to Lisburn. A car passes by, then another one. The men in the second car force him to get in together with his dog. They claim to be part of IRA (Irish Republican Army) and ask the man his name and his religious orientation; whether he is a Protestant or a Catholic.
