Senders and receiver

When reading and analysing an article it is important to take into consideration the sender and the receiver of it. This way of analysing applies to “TV, public school and Ryan's fall” by Amelia Hill and Kamal Ahmed too.

Senders

The senders of the text are journalists Amelia Hill and Kamal Ahmed. Amelia Hill works as a senior reporter for the British publication The Guardian, which also owns The Observer. Kamal Ahmed worked as a blogger and collaborator for The Observer.

Receiver

The target audience or the receiver of the text is indicated by both the content and the medium in which the article was published.

The medium, The Observer newspaper, suggests that the larger audience is the British public. However, given the centre-left orientation of the newspaper and the fact that it only appears on Sundays, we can infer that the target audience is comprised of people with similar political orientation and regular Sunday readers.
