Summary

The action of “A Shot in the Light” by Lion Goodman takes place in America, in 1978. The narrator, a salesman, is traveling to Los Angeles in his van. In the Mojave Desert, the narrator meets Ray, a man in his twenties, whose car broke down. The narrator decides to help Ray, so he takes him in his van, quickly trusts him and shares his clothes with him. The third night after their encounter, Ray shoots the narrator four times, but only the second and the fourth bullets hit his head.
