Presentation of the topic
E Waste (or e-waste) is a term used to describe electronic waste: all the electronic devices (particularly phones and computers) that people no longer use because they are broken, outdated, or at the end of their life cycle. E-waste is mostly thrown away, but it can also be dealt with in a sustainable way through recycling. However, even the process of recycling e-waste has come under scrutiny because recycling companies from industrial countries usually send most of their electronic waste to third world countries, a practice which is also known as dumping. Researchers have shown that sending electronic waste to developing countries has potentially hazardous effects on people’s health because of the rudimentary techniques used there to dismantle the electronic items.
