The article “I’ve lost my conversational mojo – can I relearn the art of small talk?” by Rhik Samadder was published in April 2021. The UK was at the end of a one-year period of almost continuous lockdowns as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic which started in March 2020. During the lockdowns, most people had to work from home, restaurants and other public places were closed or had limited access, and most personal and professional interactions took place online.
