Setting

The events presented in the short film “The English Teacher” by Blake Ridder take place in London, UK. 

Robert’s house plays an important role in the setting, as it mirrors his sadness and loneliness. The beginning of the film shows Robert waking up alone (00:16-00:36) and, later on, he is shown reaching out to the empty side of his bed (06:11-06:24) while half-awake. Robert is also seen having a breakdown while he eats his lunch alone (05:42-05:51).
