Narrator and point of view
The short story “Soldier’s Home” by Ernest Hemingway is told by a third-person narrator. The narrator focuses on the perspective of Harold Krebs, the main character.
The narrator has access to Krebs’ thoughts and feelings: “Krebs acquired the nausea in regard to experience that is the result of untruth or exaggeration…” (p. 1, ll. 30-31).
