The movie Nomadland directed by Chloé Zhao uses a variety of camera angles and perspectives that help tell the story and draw in the audience. Camera movement is also important, as it often conveys the idea of being forever on the road and in motion, which is an integral part of Fern’s lifestyle.

Wide shots from an outside perspective offer the audience a better view of Fern’s life on the road. Such shots are used to highlight the vastness and isolation of Fern’s surroundings or, on the contrary, the sense of community whenever Fern meets other nomads.
