Charles Michael 'Chuck' Palahniuk (b. 1962) is an American author. Fight Club was his first published novel and remains his most famous work, although he has published a number of novels and short stories since its publication.
Fight Club tells the story of a narrator who is alienated from his own life and from the ideals of modern society, until he creates an underground society with his friend Tyler Durden, which is based around violence and rebellion. Fight Club was adapted into a movie in 1999, starring Edward Norton, Brad Pitt and Helena Bonham Carter.
