Composition

In what follows, we refer to the way the article is structured regarding structure. “On War and Redemption” follows the form and structure of an opinion article. This means it has a heading, an introduction, a main body and a conclusion.

Introduction

In the introduction, the author introduces us to the topic – the war in Afghanistan and its effects on soldiers...

Main body

In the main body, Kudo develops his argumentation through a personal story, but he uses both hidden and open argumentation. An example of hidden argumentation is when he talks about the impact war has on those back home:

Conclusion

The conclusion of the article brings the readers to the author’s initial point; that soldiers are not fine after returning from war.
