Summary

“Monster under the Bed” by Lezanne Clannachan tells the story of Eddie. He is waiting for the train to take him home on a bench on the platform, when a dog comes up to him. The dog reminds him of his old dog Beanie, so Eddie plays with it. The dog’s owner, a homeless man, believes Eddie wants to take his dog or harm him, so he takes the animal away.

It is revealed that Eddie has come to London to buy his mother her favourite type of pastry for her birthday. He could not find the bakery from her childhood, but he bought her the type of Eccles she likes. However, now he is worried about getting late home and is feeling hungry.
