Short summary

The novel The Fault in Our Stars by John Greene is set in present day Indiana in the USA. Hazel and Augustus are two teenagers suffering from cancer who meet in a support group and immediately fall in love. They start spending time together and discuss the past, hobbies, and preferences. Many of their conversations are not as light-hearted as those of their peers. Again and again, they talk about cancer and life and death. Despite the hopeless situation, both maintain a very humorous and sometimes cynical way of dealing with their hard fate.
