Summary

The short film “The English Teacher” by Blake Ridder begins with a scene where viewers see a glimpse of a woman riding a bike. The scene changes suddenly and viewers are introduced to Robert, an English teacher who wakes up to see an email from a man named Jin Ying. Jin gives Robert his address and asks for a three-hour English course in exchange for 300 pounds. 

When Robert arrives at the address, he asks Jin why he wants to learn English. Jin uses an online translator to explain that he has an English exam in two weeks and that he needs to study. That night, Robert teaches Jin a few basics, like asking and answering personal questions. 

In the next scene, Robert is eating a sandwich alone on a bench. He looks sad. On another night, Robert apologizes to Jin for being late and blames it on the London traffic. Aft...
