Chapter summaries 2-37

Chapter 2 

The narrator, Christopher Boone, discovers Mrs Shears’ dog Wellington dead on her front lawn. The dog has been killed with a garden fork. Christopher strokes the dog and wonders who has killed him. 

Chapter 3

Christopher introduces himself and explains that he often struggles to understand how other people are feeling from their facial expressions. 

Chapter 5

Christopher hugs the dead dog until Mrs Shears comes out and screams at him. He doesn’t know what to do so he puts his forehead on the ground.
