Summary

The short story “Tell the Women We’re Going” by Raymond Carver focuses on two men, Bill Jamison and Jerry Roberts, who are childhood friends. The two used to share everything in high school, even dating the same girls. Then Jerry gets married to Carol, a girl Bill dated as well. He drops out of school and gets a job to support his new family. Bill and Jerry still keep in touch, but sometimes the relationship between Jerry and Carol makes Bill uncomfortable.

Bill gets married to Linda some years later, and Jerry is his best man. By that time, Jerry has two children and another one on the way. Bill and Jerry still get together with their wives every weekend, mostly at Jerry’s house.
