Works in the same genre
An interesting short story which also depicts a detective analysing a crime scene is “The Good Samaritan” by Charles Ardai (Crime in Fiction, p. 85). The story shows how different destitute people – either the homeless or prostitutes – are killed on a regular basis by a mysterious attacker. A detective closely analyses the evidence he finds at the crime scenes and soon connects the murders, deciding to find the criminal.
