Uddrag

Nedenfor kan du se et kort uddrag fra vores study guide til emnet:

Direct argumentation

Direct argumentation means the writer explicitly states his views on the topic he is debating. Tony Rao does this throughout the article when he clearly expresses the views he supports when it comes to social media addiction. Some relevant examples are: “…it has the potential to cause long-term damage to our emotions, behaviour and relationships.” (ll. 7-9); “The harm lies in their change in behaviour. Their addiction means spending an increasing amount of time online…” (ll. 33-36)

A marker that signals direct argumentation is the use of explanations that detail the writer’s views: “…it means social media is the main activity they engage in above all others. It also means taking away attention from other tasks…” (ll. 37-40)
