Textual perspectives

We advise you to compare Nixon’s “Silent Majority” speech with Ronald Reagan’s “Evil Empire” speech, which was delivered during the Cold War. Reagan’s speech, which was delivered in 1982, predicts the collapse of totalitarianism and the Soviet Union. Moreover, both Reagan and Nixon uses their speeches to call for solidarity. While Reagan asks the support and help of allied nations, Nixon mainly focuses on the local support of Americans.
