Denne webbog guider dig trygt igennem opgave 1-4 (delprøve 1) fra den skriftlige eksamen i Engelsk A med netadgang på STX fra den 24. maj 2017. Vi giver dig hjælp - grammatisk og praktisk - til at løse de fire opgaver og forstå grammatikken bag dem. Opgave 1 - Fejlsætninger

I hver af nedenstående sætninger er en grammatisk fejl understreget. Skriv den korrekte sætning, og forklar dine rettelser med udgangspunkt i sætningerne. Brug relevant grammatisk/faglig terminologi. Skriv din forklaring på dansk. 

 

  1. Many young football players often dream of playing professional for one of the top teams.
  2. It is a tough work to make sure that a football team is run successfully.
  3. Almost everybody in Britain, where all Premier League matches are televised, share an opinion about football.
  4. Last year, the English football team Leicester celebrated ecstatically the victory.
  5. Hardly the last match had been won before football supporters crowded the streets.
  6. The authentic book, The Secret Footballer, created a larger debate two years ago.
  7. The shocking about the growth of jobs in computing is that women make up only 18% of computer science graduates.
  8. A boy will often believe in his own abilities whereas a girl may be a victim of hers own demands for perfection.
  9. Does it really, some people will ask, takes a soldier to be brave?
  10. That boys and girls are not raised similarly in Denmark and the USA are probably true.

Opgave 2 - Adjektivernes gradbøjning

Nedenstående tekstuddrag er fra novellen “Pretending to Know the Words”. 

  1. Find og skriv 8 adjektiver (tillægsord) fra tekststykket.
  2. Redegør kort for komparation (gradbøjning) af adjektiver på engelsk ud fra eksemplerne. Brug relevant grammatisk/faglig terminologi. Skriv din forklaring på dansk.

She would say, don’t talk crazy. Has that English air sent you mad? 
    He would say, my feet are cold on the glossy floorboards. The bed makes me feel as if I’m drowning. I am a speck in this shiny house. And it hates me for being ungrateful. 
    He jolted as he realised he was about to hit the floor. The slippery sofa was rejecting him, sliding him off. 
[…] He jabbed at the remote control to wake the television, and winced at the fierce colours of Match of the Day
    Vague ideas of changing the channel lolled around his brain. But when a scarlet number 17 shirt flooded 
the picture, his eyes locked on. Recoba was written beneath the number.

Opgave 3 - Udvidet tid

I nedenstående sætninger fra “Teach girls bravery, not perfection” er nogle ing-former understreget. 

Forklar kort, hvilken funktion hver enkelt ing-form har i sætningen. Brug relevant grammatisk/faglig terminologi. Skriv din forklaring på dansk. 

  1. The sitting congresswoman had been in my district since 1992.
  2. And even when we’re ambitious, even when we’re leaning in, that socialization of perfection has caused us to take less risks in our careers.
  3. So in 2012, I started a company to teach girls to code, and what I found is that by teaching them to code I had socialized them to be brave.

Opgave 4 - Sammenhængede tekst

Nedenstående uddrag fra Reshma Saujanis TED talk “Teach girls bravery, not perfection” er kendetegnet ved en høj grad af sammenhæng. Beskriv, hvilke sproglige elementer der bidrager til at skabe sammenhæng, især med fokus på syntaks (sætningskonstruktion), konjunktioner (bindeord) og brugen af gentagelser. Brug relevant grammatisk/faglig terminologi og eksempler fra teksten. Skriv dit svar på dansk. 

And I’m not alone: so many women I talk to tell me that they gravitate towards careers and professions that they know they’re going to be great in, that they know they’re going to be perfect in, and it’s no wonder why. Most girls are taught to avoid risk and failure. We’re taught to smile pretty, play it safe, get all A’s. Boys, on the other hand, are taught to play rough, swing high, crawl to the top of the monkey bars and 
then just jump off headfirst. And by the time they’re adults, whether they’re negotiating a raise or even asking someone out on a date, they’re habituated to take risk after risk. They’re rewarded for it. It’s often said in Silicon Valley, no one even takes you seriously unless you’ve had two failed start-ups. In other words, we’re raising our girls to be perfect, and we’re raising our boys to be brave. 

Some people worry about our federal deficit, but I, I worry about our bravery deficit. Our economy, our society, we’re just losing out because we’re not raising our girls to be brave. The bravery deficit is why women are underrepresented in STEM, in C-suites, in boardrooms, in Congress, and pretty much everywhere you look.
