This inaugural speech was made by Nelson Mandela in 1994.
At the time of the speech, Nelson Mandela had just been elected as South Africa's President, representing the African National Congress (ANC), a social democratic party. ANC supports African nationalism and social policies like the economic, political, and intellectual empowerment of South Africans.
ANC’s ideology is reflected in the speech as well. For instance, the speaker affirms his love for South Africa which indicates a nationalist approach to governing: “…I have no hesitation in saying that each one of us is as intimately attached to the soil of this beautiful country…” (ll. 16-18)
