Uddrag
Nedenfor kan du se et kort uddrag af vores study guide til teksten:
Title
The title of the story “Mink” by Marina Warner refers to a small animal, native to North America, which is sometimes killed to make fur coats. The title is a hint at the main trigger of the action in the story, which is the fact that the mother, Donna, wants a mink fur coat: “ ‘The best mink is blonde.’ This was a favourite subject of our mother’s.” (l. 1). This leads to a conflict with her husband, who disapproves of Donna’s wishes, considering a mink coat to be something useless and frivolous (ll. 69-70).
