Intention

In his Inaugural Address, John F. Kennedy first intends to persuade the American people to work and put an individual effort for America’s glory. Towards the end of the speech, Kennedy uses antithesis in a call for action: “ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country” (ll. 156-158).
