Presentation of the topic

The internet and technology have become part of our everyday life. Thanks to digital devices like smartphones, tablets, and laptops we have the option of being constantly connected to the internet, and implicitly, to a vast amount of information and numerous online contacts. While the internet and technology have multiple benefits, these tools also raise a series of concerns. They can be distracting, stressful and overwhelming, and, according to research, they can affect the way our brains work and process information.

The texts in your exam set are focused on the impact internet and technology have on people’s brains, and, implicitly, on the consequences of using the internet and technology for the way we conduct our lives.
