Sender

The sender of the article “Innocence lost: what did you do before the internet?” is Leah McLaren, a Canadian writer and journalist based in London. McLaren’s articles have been published in several well-known newspapers and magazines, such as The Sunday Telegraph, The Times, and The Spectator. Her journalistic experience makes her appear reliable to the readers. 

In her article, McLaren draws on her own childhood experiences. For example, she talks about the time when she lived without the internet:

Like most kids I spent idle summer days drifting around our garden spying faces in the clouds, but my childhood (…) was also awash in cultural drek. I had way more weekly screen time than my own kids, most of it spent zoning out on bad sitcom reruns and mind-numbing hours playing Pac-Man on our Commodore 64… (ll. 40-43)
