The short film “I Don’t Make the Rules” directed by Law Chen was inspired by real-life events. The film depicts elements of the personal story of Myles Humphus, the actor who plays Stephen Noa.

Myles Humphus used to be a player in the National Football League. Like Stephen, Humphus played for the Cleveland Browns for a season but he was quickly released after that. His career in football was thereafter halted and he found it very difficult to find another stable career. He worked in various jobs, including as a mixed martial arts fighter, before he started his acting career.
