Audience

The audience of Emma Watson's “HeForShe Speech”, also known as receivers, is primarily formed by all those present in front of the UN stage (l. 105) where Emma Watson delivered the launch speech of the UN gender equality campaign, HeForShe. The speech was delivered at the United Nations Headquarters, in New York, in 2014.

Consequently, the audience was most likely formed by press and media, UN employees and officials, as well as activists.

Considering that the speech was recorded and is available on various digital platforms and channels (including YouTube, where it has more than 2 million views), with subtitles in a large number of languages, the potential scope of the audience is global.
