Sohail

Sohail Manzoor is Sarfraz’s brother and is mentioned in the autobiography Greetings from Bury Park. He is the second child in the Manzoor family and the eldest son. Just like his sister Navela, Sohail is born in Pakistan and immigrates with the rest of his family to Britain. 

As a child, Sohail comes across as creative and kind towards his siblings. For example, Sarfraz remembers Sohail making a cricket bat from a plank of wood and building makeshift tents with his brother out of a large bed sheet. (The Ties That Bind,7%).

 In high school, Sohail becomes popular and develops athletic prowess: “At school my brother was captain of the rugby, athletics and cricket teams” (The Ties That Bind, 11%). In college, Sohail becomes passionate about bodybuilding and does weight training, much to his brother’s envy:
