Summary

Kelli Jean Drinkwater begins her TED Talk, “Enough with the fear of fat”, by arguing that many people fear being fat and various industries take advantage of this fear.

She continues to talk about herself as a fat person and imagines what the audience might assume about her weight and lifestyle. She claims that such judgements are symptons of fatphobia, which is a discriminatory attitude. Drinkwater explains how people, media, and doctors tend to look at fat people as bad people, whereas thin people are seen as inherently good.
