Summary

In “The Masque of the Red Death” by Edgar Allan Poe, a plague called the Red Death is decimating the population in a fictional country, killing those infected fast and painfully, as its symptoms are bleeding from the pores and dizziness and pain. A local prince named Prospero gathers some of the wealthiest people in his fortified castle, severing all ties with the outside world and implicitly the plague. The prince is an eccentric man and has prepared all types of entertainment for his guests.
