Summary
“Mr. and Mrs. Elliot” by Ernest Hemingway tells the story of Mr. and Mrs. Elliot, who are trying to conceive a baby. Hubert Elliot is 25 and his wife, Cornelia, is forty years old. Both of them were virgins when they got married and expected their love life to be different, but it proved to be a disappointment. In fact, he doesn't know how it was decided they get married.
After getting married, the couple decides to live in Europe. They stay in Paris for a while, and then they move to Dijon, where they get bored quickly. During their travels, Hubert, who is a poet, writes lengthy poems and Cornelia helps him by typing them.
