Summary
“How the Nurse Feels” by Greg Changnon starts with Tess Powell, a teenage girl playing the role of the nurse from Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet in a high school play, but who has trouble connecting with the character.
The school is canceled because of heavy snow. Tess calls Tiger De Soto, the student playing the role of the apothecary in the play, to let him know rehearsals are postponed. Tiger is considered a problematic student, but Tess has begun to feel attracted to him.
The next day, Tess’ father, Reverend Powell, informs Tess and her friend Kimberly that Tiger is missing and everybody suspects he has run away from home.
