Summary

“Donkey” is a narrated short film about a successful young banker. His life seems to be perfect, but when he meets a man that he used to bully in his teenage years,he begins to rethink his priorities.

David, the banker, tells the viewer that his best friend and the most popular kid in class, Stanley, was the school cut-up whose specialty was a donkey imitation. However, as the boys grow up, Stanley begins to be bullied by his classmates because he is slower than the other kids— “a Forrest Gump type, a retard.” David’s voiceover descriptions of Stanley grow meaner, slipping into hurtful, abusive pejoratives.

One evening, long after graduation, David meets grown-up Stanley in a bar. David’s voiceover continues, as he brags to Stanley of his success...
