Introduction
Although it mainly explores the potential negative consequences of Brexit, the source materials also hint at possible solutions for a few of the issues raised in the debate about Brexit. Note that we do not yet know how many of these potential solutions might be adopted as the UK and the EU are still negotiating.
Taking inspiration from activists in the US
As Text 1 and Text 4 suggest, there is no mass anti-Brexit movement led by young people in the UK, even though the majority of them voted to remain in the EU. Text 1 also states that young people’s opinions are not reflected in the public discourse about Brexit. It also points out that the anti-Brexit campaigns that do exist, such as Our Future Our Choice, remain small and thus have limited impact.
