Here, we will discuss the circumstances surrounding Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential nomination acceptance speech regarding the American promise.

The speech was delivered on the 28th of August, 2008, during the Democratic Convention held in Denver, Colorado. As the first speech of the Convention was delivered by Michelle Obama, it immediately became clear that Barack Obama would become the Democratic Party’s candidate for the presidency of the United States. Furthermore, Obama’s opposing candidate, Senator Hillary Clinton, had ended her campaign in June 2008 and demonstrated her support for Obama.
