Ethos is employed in Obama’s speech. In some cases Obama builds ethos by referring to his own direct authority as President, but in other cases he relies on the wider authority of the United States as a powerful nation and on the importance of the US being part of political decisions:

But Iran must know this time is not unlimited. And I have made the position of the United States of America clear: Iran must not get a nuclear weapon. This is not a danger that can be contained.
