Here are the elements that will help with your analysis of the short film “Baghdad Express” by Nimer Rashed.

The film’s structure includes many flashbacks and features techniques such as foreshadowing. The plot switches between present and past events that explain the main character’s final decision.

The film follows the main character, Maya, a young woman who chooses to stay with her sick father instead of accepting a scholarship to a fashion school. Throughout the film, Maya experiences an inner conflict between her dreams and her perceived duty to her father.

The events take place in the UK. The social setting explores issues such as cultural identity. 

The film uses several cinematic techniques which help tell the story. In terms of framing, the short film uses close-ups to highlight the characters’ emotions and highlight certain ideas. The sound of the film includes background music, which helps viewers to better understand the characters, and sounds that suggest certain ideas or emotions.
