Logos

Kevin Rudd appeals to reason when he includes factual information and uses logical arguments in the apology speech.

For example, he provides statistical evidence on the Stolen generations:

(…) let the Parliament reflect for a moment on the following facts: that, between 1910 and 1970, between 10 and 30 per cent of indigenous children were forcibly taken from their mothers and fathers; that, as a result, up to 50,000 children were forcibly taken from their families (ll. 123-126)

Logos can also be found in the speech when Rudd references Bringing Them Home, a 1997 report on the Stolen Generations (ll. 104-105), and when he quotes the Northern Territory Protector of Natives and references a declaration from the Western Australian Protector of Na...
