Presentation of the topic

The three texts deal with the topic of consumption and consumerism. Nowadays, people have so many options regarding the things they can buy that today's society has often been called consumerist. But, opinions on this trend vary. Some argue that possessing more things causes more stress and advocate for owning less stuff and sharing more. Others say that shopping can have some therapeutic effects on people. Subsequently, we can say that there is no consensus on the topic, only a growing debate.
